Sander van Goor is a music therapist and a solution-focused therapist from the Netherlands, who is experienced in trauma treatment. He mainly works with refugee children and youth and their families. He is developing a method called Safe & Sound where music therapy and solution-focused therapy are combined to create a safe environment where people can connect, learn from each other, be there for each other, share stories and create a sense of belonging.
In the therapy, the focus is on promoting resilience by looking at peoples own strengths and possibilities and by helping them to connect to the resources in their environment that sustain their well-being.
Sander is also a trainer. He gives training and workshops about trauma, resilience, solution-focused therapy and music therapy. He works together with several NGOs and has working experience in conflict areas in the Middle East, Brazil and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
